The Rooftop Track That Became a Landmark

Built in 1923 atop the Fiat Lingotto factory, the banked rooftop test track was once where new cars were driven straight off the production line for their first laps — famously filmed for The Italian Job. The factory closed in the 1980s and was reborn as a cultural and retail complex, with the track itself preserved and open to walk.

Directly below, the Pinacoteca Agnelli — a small glass "scrigno" gallery appearing to float above the track — houses the Agnelli family's private art collection, a compact but excellent stop to pair with the rooftop.
