Where the Bicerin Was Born

A tiny marble-and-wood room opposite the Santuario della Consolata, open since 1763 and still serving the drink that made it famous — the bicerin, a layered glass of espresso, drinking chocolate and cream, sipped without stirring so the three layers stay distinct.

It gets busy — standing room only at peak times — but also serves classic Torinese pastries alongside the bicerin. A genuine slice of 18th-century Torino rather than a recreation of one.
